Welcome to Coordinators’ Corner, and thank you for being an active part of this network with hundreds of groups working to help those affected by sleep apnea! We hope you enjoy this special place on the Internet designed just for coordinators, and we hope it becomes a valuable resource for you. Please remember that we are available to discuss individually any concerns and ideas that you may have. You may also be interested in visiting the websites of the American Self-Help Group Clearinghouse and of the Self-Help Network for more information about support groups.
We look forward to hearing all about your group and learning more about your experiences with A.W.A.K.E.
Is your group listed as an active group in our A.W.A.K.E. group database? Is your group website listed in our list of A.W.A.K.E. group websites? If not, please contact us.
Active groups have met the following three requirements:
- Your group has a "Statement of Understanding" signed by the current coordinator on file with our office. If you are not sure, print the form from this website, complete and sign it, and send the form to us.
- The ASAA has been added to your group's mailing list for any materials or meeting announcements that are distributed.
- The "Meeting Summary" form has been completed after each meeting and returned to the ASAA. This ongoing feedback about your group is very important because it helps us to maintain contact with your A.W.A.K.E. group and to learn from your ideas and activities.
Resources
It is a good idea to have written educational materials available at meetings. The ASAA has provided you with copies of many of our publications, in the back pocket of your guidelines. Feel free to photocopy any materials that are printed on our letterhead, including our list of publications, to distribute to your members. Reprints of WAKE-UP CALL articles can be ordered from the ASAA. We will mail any changes or updates in our educational materials to all coordinators, and please feel free to contact the ASAA to learn what publications and educational videos are currently available.
